The SoftPaws Family

 My name is Suzie and I am the owner of Suzie SoftPaws.  My love for pets started when I was very young.  However, I did not have my first dog until I was 14 years old.  My mother bought a miniature poodle and named him Babyduck.  I was always fascinated when Babyduck came home from the groomer because he was so pristine, and his feet were AMAZING, so round and fluffy.  That was how my love for grooming started.  I always knew I wanted to be a groomer, but my life didn't work out that way until later in life.  I was a Navy wife for about 8 years and then joined the Navy myself at the age of 28.  After 12 years on active duty, I separated and went for my dream.   It has been the best decision I have ever made.  This was my calling, and I am so glad I made the plunge.  Taking care of dogs is my passion and making sure they are as comfortable as possible is my most important job.   

 My name is Kyle and I have been a dog groomer for 7 years.  I love every moment of it. I have loved animals my whole life and always wanted to work with animals. I got my wish in the grooming industry. I have had an interest in grooming for a long time and was lucky enough to start my career at PetSmart. I had a wonderful teacher and manager that taught me all the skills I know now. I have learned quite a lot since I started and am still learning new things every day. I love my job and love taking care of people's fur babies. I am so excited to be on Suzie's team and provide one-on-one attention for my fur clients!

 Hi! I'm Ashley, I first became a vet tech in 2018, but while I was working as a tech, I found I always loved to trim nails, clean up feet to look nice and always brushed out my hospitalized patients. I am very lucky to have a close friend who is a groomer, and a mentor willing to train me. The rest is history! I have multiple family members in the hairstyling industry, so I guess you could say it's in my blood to love hair...it just ended up being fur for me! I have a German shepherd that I compete in herding, Scentwork, and Rally with. He's 2 years old and my best bud. I'm so excited to be a part of the soft paws family, can't wait to meet you and your pup! 

For the past seven years, I've been devoted to grooming dogs of all breeds, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep passion for canine care. I was fortunate to train under a certified master groomer who taught me the art of hand-stripping, a skill I use regularly to ensure my clients’ dogs are presented at their best. Over the years, I’ve also had the privilege of preparing dogs for conformation shows, putting them into breed-specific cuts and meticulously maintaining their coats throughout the show season.

Beyond grooming, I’m actively involved in various dog sports with my own dogs. We compete in a wide range of events, from conformation and herding to scentwork, rally, dock diving, and fastCAT. It’s thrilling to see my dogs thrive in these sports, each one showcasing their unique talents. My dedication has even led to championing my first dog, and I’m now working toward titles with two more—one of whom I bred myself.

Currently, I’m on the path to becoming a licensed judge with both the American Kennel Club (AKC) and the American Herding Breed Association (AHBA) for herding trials. Teaching the fundamentals of herding to beginner dogs and their owners is one of my great joys, and I also handle dogs in herding events for clients. There’s something deeply fulfilling about guiding a dog through their training journey and watching them succeed.

My life truly revolves around dogs, and I am constantly learning and growing within this field. I’m passionate about every aspect of dog care, training, and competition, and I look forward to continuing to help dogs and their owners reach new heights together.

  Hi! I’m Eva, I grew up in a house with 4 animals so I’ve always loved animals. Growing up I also really loved working with my hands so I came into the grooming industry! After a grooming basics crash course I started under a Master Groomer in a salon further north here in Colorado. I got to refine my skills on double coated dogs with her for just about a year, I love to do anything with style! I specialize in double coated dogs and most terrier patterns but love completing any service! I’ve been grooming for about 3 years now, but I am kind of new to mobile services and so excited to be a part of the SoftPaws family!
